Elders’ Update on Sunday Services

“When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere man do to me?” – Psalm 56:3–4

Barabbas Road Church Family,
As the world around us is in a state of panic, we cannot imagine a better place to be than at church with God’s people, reflecting on the sovereignty, providence, and goodness of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We also want to be loving neighbors to those around us.  At this point we deem it wise to not have our regular Sunday gathering. Rather, service will exclusively be online through live stream Sunday at 10:00 a.m. on our website http://www.barabbas.com/ with music, sermon, and a link for the offering. This is a way for us as a church to exemplify submission to our Lord and maintain a good reputation in the community (1 Peter 2:12) and show our love for others (Mark 12:31; James 2:15-17). Additionally, all other regular activities that take place at the Ministry Center will be suspended until it is wise to resume. Stay in touch with your 242 group and others in the church to encourage one another.

This is a good reminder to all of us that we live in an uncertain world and our confidence and trust are only found in the sovereignty of God. God reigns over every molecule and cell in your body and has predetermined that which is good for you within His providential will (Romans 8:28–32). This is an opportunity to encourage and strengthen the people of God and an opening for the gospel in our community. For those of you who may be anxious, remember the words of Isaiah to trust in the Lord: “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in you” (Isaiah 26:3). Counseling is always available and can be scheduled online at http://www.barabbas.com/counsel/

We ask you to continue to pray for our church and to faithfully participate through live streaming on Sunday, praying for one another, carrying each other’s burdens, offering hope to the lost and being a witness of Christ and His love.

We will make regular updates and modifications week by week. This is a unique time in our world, but we are grateful to know the One who sits on the throne.
